Seronera is located in the centre of the massive Serengeti National Park. The name Seronera is derived from the Maasai word ‘siron’‚ meaning the place of the bat-eared fox. It is served by Seronera Airstrip. The Seronera Valley is a fantastic year-round game-viewing destination due to its abundant wildlife. The acacia-studded savanna is home to the famous big cats and is recognised as the best place to see lions‚ leopards and cheetah. Seronera is at its peak in the months of April to June when the herds of the Great Migration pass through the area as they head northwards.
