Tanzania park fees 2023: When visiting the various national parks in Tanzania, there are some expenses to consider such as park entrance fees, Concession fee, Camping fee etc. Tanzania national parks are categorized into four regions including: the northern circuit, southern circuit, central circuit, and western circuit. All of the parks in mentioned regions require the entry fee to explore them.  The Tanzania National Parks Authority is in charge of overseeing these various parks throughout Tanzania. The following prices, excluding the 18% tax, apply to parks in Tanzania’s northern region for entrance fees:

Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti National Park is one of Tanzania’s oldest national parks and a popular wildlife destination in the north of the country. It is also well known for the annual wildebeest migration.

For non-residents older than 16 years old, the Serengeti National Park entrance fee is 70 USD during the peak season and 60 USD during the low season. Children who are not residents and are between the ages of 5 and 15 must pay a 20 USD park entrance fee.

Residents/ expatriates  who go on safaris through the Serengeti National Park must pay an entrance fee of 35 USD in the peak season and 30 USD in the low season for those who are over 16 years old, while children between the ages of 5 and 15 must pay a 10 USD entrance fee.

Visitors from East Africa and Tanzania to the Serengeti National Park must pay an entrance fee of 10,000 Tanzania shillings if they are older than 16 years old and 2,000 shillings if they are between the ages of 5 and 15.

Lake Manyara, Tarangire, and Arusha National Park

Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and Arusha national parks can also be visited for wildlife viewing opportunities all year long while on safaris in Tanzania’s northern Safari Circuit.

Similar to other national parks, these charge non-resident adults over 16 years of age a park entrance fee of 50 USD during peak season and 45 USD during low season. Children between the ages of 5 and 15 are charged a park entrance fee of 15 USD while visiting Lake Manyara, Tarangire, and Arusha national parks.

For residents or expatriates over the age of 16, entrance fees to Lake Manyara, Tarangire, and Arusha national parks are 25 USD in the peak season and 22.5 USD in the low season. Children between the ages of 5 and 15 who visit the parks must pay an entrance fee of 7.5 USD.

Tanzania park fees state that entrance fees to Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and Arusha national parks for Tanzanians and residents of East Africa are 10,000 Tanzania shillings for adults over the age of 16, and 2,000 Tanzania shillings for children between the ages of 5 and 15 years.

Kilimanjaro National Park

A safari in Tanzania’s northern region should also include a stop at Kilimanjaro National Park. Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa, is a famous feature of the national park. One of the main pursuits during excursions to Kilimanjaro National Park is hiking.

For non-residents over the age of 16, the entrance fee to Kilimanjaro National Park is 70 USD; for non-resident children between the ages of 5 and 15, the entrance fee is 20 USD.

Kilimanjaro National Park entrance fees for residents or expatriates visitors are 35 USD for those over the age of 16 and 10 USD for visitors between the ages of 5 and 15 who are visiting the park.

East Africans or Tanzanians over the age of 16 who visit Kilimanjaro National Park must pay an entrance fee of 10,000 Tanzania shillings, while visitors between the ages of 5 and 15 must pay an entrance fee of 2,000 Tanzania shillings. The following is the park entrance fee for national parks that can be visited during safaris around Tanzania’s southern region. 18% tax Excluded:

Ruaha national park

The big five, including elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and buffalos, as well as many other wildlife species, can be spotted during safaris at Ruaha National Park, one of Tanzania’s most well-known national parks.

Visitors to Ruaha National Park over the age of 16 pay a park entrance fee of $30, while those between the ages of 5 and 15 pay a park entrance fee of $10.

Children between the ages of 5 and 15 are charged a park entrance fee of $5 USD, while residents and foreign visitors older than 16 years old are charged a 15 USD park entrance fee.

East Africans, or Tanzanians, must pay a park entrance fee of 5,000 Tanzania shillings for Tanzania tours to the Ruaha national park, while children between the ages of 5 and 15 must pay a park entrance fee of 2,000 Tanzania shillings.

Nyerere National Park

Another safari destination with a reputation for wildlife viewing is Nyerere National Park, which is accessible from the southern part of Tanzania. The former Selous game reserve is now Nyerere National Park, one of Tanzania’s biggest parks with an area of more than 30,000 square kilometers. Adult non-residents over the age of 16 must pay a park entrance fee of 50 USD to enter Nyerere National Park, while non-resident children between the ages of 5 and 15 must pay a park entrance fee of 30 USD. The park entrance fee for national parks in the western parts of Tanzania is as follows:

 Mahale National Park

Non-residents over the age of 16 must pay an entrance fee to the Mahale National Park of 80 USD, while visitors under the age of 5 must pay a 20 USD entrance fee.

Children between the ages of 5 and 15 are charged a park entrance fee of 10 USD, while residents and foreign visitors who are older than 16 are charged a park entrance fee of 40 USD.

For East Africans or Tanzanians visiting , the entrance fee is 5000 Tanzania Shillings for those over the age of 16 and 2,000 Tanzania Shillings for those between the ages of 5 and 15 years.

Gombe National Park

Gombe National Park is another place that tourists can visit while on safari in Tanzania’s western region. A popular activity in this national park is chimpanzee trekking.

Gombe National Park entrance fees in Tanzania for non-residents over the age of 16 are $100 USD, while entrance fees for safaris in the national park for kids between the ages of 5 and 15 are $20 USD.

Residents over the age of 16 must pay an entrance fee to the Gombe National Park of 50 USD, while children between the ages of 5 and 15 must pay an entrance fee of 10 USD.

When East Africans or Tanzanians travel to the Gombe National Park as part of a safari in Tanzania, they must pay an entrance fee of 10,000 Tanzania Shillings for those over the age of 16, while children between the ages of 5 and 15 must pay 2,000 Tanzania Shillings. Other fees for safaris in and around Tanzania’s national parks include the following:
